Verio Inc. (NASDAQ:VRIO), a leading provider of comprehensive business Internet services, has enhanced its nationwide Internet service offerings with the opening of a new data center in the Washington, D.C. area.

The new Internet data center is connected directly to Verio's high-speed Internet backbone and gives the company improved capacity and scalability to meet demand for faster Internet access, increased hosting space, more bandwidth and other business needs.

The new Vienna, Virginia Internet data center - which Verio will use primarily for co-location and Web hosting - resides near MAE East and other major Internet traffic exchange points that allow Verio to speed up access and content delivery. Featuring redundant connections that provide added reliability and alternate links to the Verio backbone, the data center handles data at speeds up to 155 megabytes per second, upgrading to 622 megabytes per second in early 1999. As with Verio's other Internet data centers, this new state-of-the-art facility is designed for 24 x 7 Internet operations.
