Fed: Govt to support ALP amendments on FTA=2

Mr HOWARD says the amendments could derail the free trade deal.

He says the US has indicated overnight that it'll reserve its decision on the trade
deal until it's fully examined Labor's changes.

Mr HOWARD says the Labor amendments are unnecessary and are a political ploy.

He says the government's warned Labor the amendments could also have an impact on Australian
start-up companies.
