Qld: Minister flies into cyclone hit Cairns

Queensland's Emergency Services Minister STEPHEN ROBERTSON has flown into Cairns to
inspect cyclone damage in the area after the airport reopened this morning.

The airport was closed yesterday afternoon as Cyclone Steve battered the city.

Meanwhile, a rescue helicopter has been sent to pick up seven people stranded in their
homes just north of Mareeba on the Atherton Tablelands.
